Fish Romania's Danube Delta with Angling International

If you have a pioneering spirit then a trip to The Danube Delta will appeal to you. The Danube is, without question, one of the most beautiful and unspoilt areas in the world and we are lucky enough to have access to a whole 60km stretch of this incredible river. A maze of river sections, large open bays and smaller channels there are carp everywhere, and early indications show that the more bait that goes in the bigger the fish get. A new venue to our portfolio this year, our guys Simon Crow and Steve Briggs went out there in October 2003 to see what it had to offer. The Delta is isolation in the extreme as it is a three hour drive then a two hour boat trip to get to our private island on the border with the Ukraine . There is accommodation on the island, but no traffic, no noise, and not even a plane to look at. It really is getting back to nature, and we are currently putting together some adventure trips for next year. Bivvies, bait and permits will be included as will transport between the river and the airport, as will boats and some tips on where to start.

Carp wise, those in the know feel that The Danube will be the venue that produces the new world record. The problem is that it is so big that location of the big fish is the main problem. A bit like the St Lawrence in Canada , there are carp everywhere, but there are some real monsters to be caught. Other nationalities have already had them to over 50lbs and we all feel that it is just a matter of time before a real monster is caught. You can virtually guarantee that any carp you land will never have even seen a line or hook before, so it really is getting away form it all in one of the most beautiful and impressive parts of the world.
