Abbey Lakes | Northern France

Abbey Lakes is now 10 years old and over the years we have seen it change from a runs water to one of the best big fish waters in France at the moment with a potential EIGHT 60s and the complex record currently standing at an incredible 83lb 11oz. With four superb lakes to choose from there really is something for everyone on the Abbey Lakes complex.

The Abbey Lakes clubhouse has been described as the best angling facility in Europe and although we know the fishing always comes first, if you do want a break away from the waters edge then you are sure to be well looked after with a bar and restaurant on site.

  • Tactics
Four lakes make up the Abbey complex and it is Fox and Heron which are the main attractions for the carp angler as they hold the biggest of the fish. Atilla is a great place to go if the fishing is tough as you are virtually guaranteed a bite with a good head of 20s, and Kingfisher is the new one on the complex that holds some unknown monsters and some massive cats.

The 25-acre Fox Lake is considered by many to hold some of the best looking carp in France and is home to the famous Humpy, the big Fox mirror that's rapidly closing in on 70lb.
Heron is the big fish water on the Abbey complex and is home to the famous mirror known as Shoulders, one of the most easily accessible 80lb carp in the world.
If carp and catfish are your preferred quarry then Kingfisher Lake is definitely the one for you.

Is there a tackle shop on site?

Yes there is a tackle shop on site and you will find all the necessary tackle or baits you need for a successful stay at Abbey, with a good selection of items from the likes of Mainline Baits, Avid Carp and Fox International. The tackle shop is open on your request - just ask the bailiff.

Do you supply food and drink?

Abbey Lakes don't provide a dedicated food package but a wide variety of snacks and meals are available. Food can either be ordered and eaten in the comfort of the recently refurbished clubhouse, or if you are on the fish and can't bear to drag yourself away from the waters edge, delivered to your swim.

Can we change swim or lake during our angling session?

Yes, there will always be some empty swims around the lake you're fishing and you can move as much as you want. After checking with the bailiffs to see if swims are available, you also have the opportunity to change lakes.

How long can we stay for?

At Abbey we have a very flexible booking system in place and you can stay for any length of time you want!
